OPOMUN 2025

Accompanying American School of Milan, Doctor Brown

It’s this chaperone first time attending OPOMUN, in fact, this is his first ever MUN. So far, he has been amazed with the experience and impressed with the executive team’s professionalism, saying it is hard to believe this was all organized by a group of students.

He comments as well on the media team and how everything is impeccable.
Dr. Brown loves to see his students throughout this conference, all dressed up, knowing what they are supposed to do and where they are supposed to be as he had no idea what to expect from this experience.

He understands it takes a lot of courage for them to stand up before their friends and students from other schools.

Doctor Brown also talks about his experience in the US. According to him, one of the most common hurdles for students is public speaking,  and MUNs help delegates overcome that struggle. They incentivize the students to be diligente in their research, as this allows them to be the most confident when representing their countries beliefs. It also allows them to be more open-minded individuals, at times defending points they do not personally agree with.

He believes MUNs helps delegates develop empathy and perspectives which are crucial aspects of our daily lives. Along with this, they enhance their listening skills, allowing them to better understand the information being presented to them.

Doctor Brown also mentions how OPOMUN is “beautiful”. He explains that the opportunity to learn from and talk to such a well-versed keynote speaker in the opening ceremony, is a truly enriching experience for all of the delegates.
