Birdseye on The Most Awaited Night – The Social Event
Yesterday, after intense debating and walking to lunch in the rain, our delegates and chaperones had a wonderful time from 8 PM onwards. Typically coming from Portugal, our dinner was Arroz de Pato, one of the country’s specialities.
Our hospitality team was in CLIP preparing everything for the delegates since 5 PM, ensuring all details were amplified and impeccable. The social event had a photo station with a background painted by our head of logistics, which the students loved. Our media team captured all these moments through various pictures and videos to keep all these memories vivid.
After dinner, we had a huge surprise where the band composed by many members of the OPOteam came to play. On the drums was Rafael Estevinho, one of the HR and GA chairs, and Guilherme Tinoco was on the piano, with the fantastic singer Danielle Dror taking the mic. But there’s more: the band had CLIP alumni also on the instruments, with Artur Morandi on the guitar and André Peixoto on the bass. They performed around six songs, which amazed the audience and gave them entrance to the most exciting time of the night.
After the show, the Executive Team organized a musical chairs game with the chairs, and it was a blast! They danced through the music, running around the circle and clapping hands, where the delegates collectively joined, enhancing the fun environment. It was a breathtaking final between one of the HR and SC chairs, where the SC chair fell to the floor, and the great winner was Rafael Estevinho.
What involved the delegates was the karaoke session between committees, where the staff got so excited there were backflips! The winning committee was for sure the WHO as they sang Perfect by Ed Sheeran. It was memorable but, most of all, joyful. The executive team then also surprised us with a song by singing traditional music by Quim Barreiros, where even the cooks from CLIP joined and danced with the secretary general, which closed the night.
